Irish Traditional/Sean Nós Singer/Musician


From Cathair Saidhbhín Co. Kerry, Seán Garvey sings with a warmth, passion and mastery which has endeared his music to many people. He is also a highly regarded player of several instruments.
He has two C.Ds to his credit, namely "Ón dTalamh Amach/Out of the Ground"(1998) and "The Bonny Bunch of Roses"(2003).
Seán has recently developed 'The Story of our Music," a lecture/
performance course on the history of Irish music. Launched in Kenmare
and supported by Deis/Arts Council, this four-lecture course opens @
Siamsa Tíre, in spring 2011. "The Story of our Music" is a history of
traditional music from pre-recorded times to the present, including
instrumentation, European influences, regional styles and more. It is
available for tour and festival bookings.
